SigningOnline.com offers Continuing Education Contact Hours to Nurses
Mason, MI – July 20, 2005 – Signing Online, LLC has partnered with the Michigan State University College of Nursing to offer Nursing Continuing Education Contact Hours (CEs) for the Learning American Sign Language Series of courses (ASL101, ASL102, ASL103, and ASL104.) The Michigan State University College of Nursing is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Michigan Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation.
"We are thrilled to work with the Michigan State University College of Nursing to provide an excellent, online learning opportunity for nurses," said Elizabeth Stewart, CEO of Signing Online. "Nurses can earn 18 contact hours for each of the Learning ASL series of courses as they learn to communicate effectively in American Sign Language."
"Many health care professionals will benefit from learning the basics of ASL," proclaimed Katie Kessler, Coordinator for Professional Education and Professional Partnerships in the Michigan State University College of Nursing. "These courses allow health care professionals to communicate with their Deaf and hard of hearing patients more effectively."
When health care professionals enroll they can specify that they wish to take a course for Nursing CEs. After completing the course and passing the final exam, they will receive a record of participation granted by Michigan State University College of Nursing.
