Children Introduced to American Sign Language in Children's Museum

Boston, MA – June 16, 2004 – The Boston Children's Museum opened their new "access/ABILITY" exhibit today. This unique exhibit presents people living with disabilities as participants in the world and features fun and engaging activities that show the similarities and differences in how each of us, with or without disabilities, go places, communicate, have fun, and learn.

The exhibit features an innovative, interactive computer kiosk, called "Come Sign with Me!" which allows children of all ages to learn the basics of American Sign Language. The kiosk software was designed and donated to the museum by Signing Online, LLC.

"We are very excited to be part of this engaging, interactive exhibit," said Brian Winn, CTO of Signing Online, LLC. "Come Sign with Me will introduce museum visitors to American Sign Language and teach them the basics of communicating with this visual language."

The "access/ABILITY" exhibit will be available at the Boston Children's Museum for the next six months. Afterwhich, it will go on tour to several other children's museums in the United States and Canada over the next four years.
